Waqf
Training Programme The field of Waqf or Islamic
Trusts/ Endowments is growing exponentially and requires professional
advocacy, support, and management. Individuals, families, organisations,
and institutions are being encouraged to establish endowments. It is imperative
that knowledge and skills around Waqf be made available to all those
interested in its theory and application within Muslim and other faith
communities especially in the Southern African region. Theme: Establishing & Developing Organisational, Institutional
and Family Awqaf Aims and Objectives: v Familiarizing
participants with the concepts and their application in Waqf management. v Establishing
leadership skills in founding and managing Awqaf v Strengthening
networks between participants to establish and promote relations between them
and their organisations
and communities.
v To
empower participants in the advocacy, establishment, and development of
Waqf and Awqaf.
Who should attend: v Legal
& Accounting firms and professionals; Ulama; Islamic Financial
Institutions; Managers/ Leaders of Islamic Charitable Organisations and
Trusts; Managers/Leaders of Masjid & Madressah Institutions;
Managers/ Leaders of Islamic Schools; Individual and Family Trusts; Asset
managers; Graduates in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering,
Law, Shariah or equivalent v Community

Training Course Awqaf SA together with its sponsors and partners (Islamic Research & Training Institute (IRTI) (a member of the Jeddah based Islamic Development Bank Group) and the Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation (KAPF) held a Southern Africa Waqf Training Course during 4 - 6 December 2009.
