Featuring poetry, plays, skits, martial arts and more, Jalsah 2006 promises to be the social highlight of the year. Artists and groups that will be performing include:

Come and experience the highlight of the evening:   plays performed by members of the MSA and other community members. One  is entitled “Unforgettable Echoes,” which focuses on the spread of Islam – as a culture and religion, through South Africa as well as the struggle many of the early Muslims suffered in our country. The other  is  “The Peoples Imaam” and tells the tale of Imaam Haroon, a leader who played a vital role in the spread of Islam and who suffered imprisonment, torture, and death under the apartheid government for his beliefs.

Proceeds raised from this event will be used to fund various social, community, and  youth projects  by Awqaf SA and the MSA.
