Esaale Sawaab:  “Esaale Sawaab”  or “Isaal-uth-thawaab”  means to transfer or dedicate the thawaab /reward of particular good actions or charitable deeds  to another person - living or deceased.

Ibadat: (ibadah) an act of worship in obedience to Allah, for the pleasure of Allah. Any action, thought, or feeling that in essence pleases Allah is an act of Ibadat.

Maal: Wealth; any form of wealth ie house, money, shares, business, farms, works of art, gold coins, investments etc 

Mutawallee: (f: mutawalliyyah) The person appointed by the waqif/ waqifah
as custodian and manager of the waqf.

Niyyah: Intention

Nukud: Money, cash

Sadaqah: generally an inclusive term referring to all forms of charity and benevolence; includes money, goods, a good deed, a smile, a courteous approach, contribution to reconciliation; aiding the cause of justice or making a just decision etc.

Sadaqah Jariyyah: Ongoing, perpetual, or recurring charity. A Waqf is a sadaqah jariyyah

Thawaab: blessings and spiritual reward; a reward from our Creator for doing good, for being obedient to His commands. (see also esaale sawaab)

Tijarah: Trade and commerce

Waqf: (pl Awqaf or waqfs) literal meaning: to contain, to stop, to
preserve; shari'ah meaning: to transfer the ownership of a portion of ones
wealth, in cash or kind, to Allah as a dedication for any shari'ah
compliant purpose. Closest English term for a waqf is a philanthropic or
charitable endowment. Another term often used is "trust fund" or "trust
property". The corpus of the waqf always remains intact. i.e. if it is in
the form of a capital asset, the said asset is neither sold (save to
improve the corpus), gifted, or inherited.

Waqf-ahli (syn: waqf-lilawlaad) A waqf dedicated to family or ones children for a time period which reverts to waqflillah.

Waqf-khayri: A waqf dedicated to charitable causes.

Waqf-lillah: (syn: waqf-khayri) Waqf in the way of Allah or charitable waqf as differentiated from Waqf-ahli or waqf-lilawlaad.

Waqf capital:  the corpus of the waqf; waqf by its nature is a capital asset. Waqf capital is pooled into a waqf fund.

Waqf Fund: the pooled waqf capital that is donated by donors.

Waqf investments:  waqf capital is generally invested in either social/religious assets such as schools, madressahs, water wells, masajid, clinics etc economic assets such as shops; apartments; houses; factories etc. Awqaf SA  generally invests waqf capital into economic assets in order to produce a waqf revenue or income stream.

Waqf revenue/income: the income derived from waqf investments.

Waqfs: (syn: awqaf) the plural for waqf in English.

Waqif: (f: waqifah) The person making a waqf i.e the donor of funds or assets in the form of waqf.
 

Waqifoon: The plural for waqif (f: waqifah)

Waqfiyyah: A written deed, document, or charter setting out in detail the
waqf that has been made, its purpose and the terms and conditions
governing its use and management thereof.
 

Wasiyyah: The portion of your estate over which you have freedom of testation. The Islamic will is divided into fixed portions and flexible portions. Regarding the fixed portion (66 2/3%), the testator submits to the shares as stipulated and fixed in the Qur'an. Regarding the flexible portion, the testator may determine beneficiaries (other than the Qur'anic heirs) up to a maximum of 33 1/3%. A waqf may only be made from the flexible portion.
